195 reinforced concrete panels have been produced so far for the repair of the Danube Bridge at Ruse

A total of 195 reinforced concrete panels, each measuring 2.48 m by 4.40 m and weighing 5.6 tonnes, have been produced since the start of the major renovation of the Danube Bridge at Ruse. Twenty four road panels have been dismantled from October 9nd to 15th, or a total of 174 panels since the start of the works on July 10th. Twenty two new panels have also been installed, bringing the total to 155 panels. The bridge renovation spans over 400 meters in the lane heading towards Bulgaria, and the building and construction works are being carried out according to the approved schedule.

In the approximately 240 m long section, the installation of cornice panels has been completed to form the pavement edge of the reinforced concrete road panels. The boreholes for the installation of bridge drains in a 240 m long section have been made. The restoration of 413 m pedestrian railing and the 12 lighting poles of the Danube Bridge at Ruse is still in progress. They are of artistic value so their integrity must be preserved, they must be restored and reinstalled.

Construction work continues without any disruption of traffic and the facility will not be shut down. The site is being worked on daily during daylight hours. The work process is organized and carried out in such a way that vehicles pass in stages in a reversible manner in the lane which is not under construction.

Up-to-date information on the repair works can be found in the special section " Information on the Danube Bridge repair " on the website of the Road Infrastructure Agency. The Agency team provides regular updates on facility repairs and is available for further questions and clarifications. This is the only way to ensure accurate, precise and correct information to all travelers.
